ABOUT ELLARY EDDY
At the core of my life there has always been the belief that life demands a sense of humor, and a readiness to play. And play begins with the imagination. The non-linearity of play is the home turf of the artist, and hence this coach as well!
As a lifelong creative and a serial entrepreneur, I am what is called a ‘hyphenate’; my background spans the visual arts (photography, video, painting), the literary arts (a book of essays, numerous articles and blogs, and several scripts), and the world of Hollywood film production. In addition I was director of a foundation for experimentation in the arts in New York City. One of my biggest endeavors was as Founder/Publisher of an online magazine, Realizemagazine.com, presenting essays, stories, video interviews, and playlists. As Editor in chief, I also wrote, edited other writers, and designed the entire site.
My intent is to channel all that experience and learning into my work, along with a wide swath of life experience spanning the struggles (and the joys) inherent in partnerships, parenthood, solo living, artistic production, and the search for identity and purpose. I believe my creativity, compassion, and my conviction in the beauty inherent in all of us, will guide me to assist others as they strive to come into alignment with their values and vision. As I seek for myself, I want to help others discover that state of mind that the Stoics called Eudaemonia, flourishing.
My personal goal is to help people clear their sights and get ‘out of the gate’ ! To me, there are at least two definitions of ‘out of the gate.’ One is that headlong rush as, at the start of a horse race, the gate is raised and the horse takes off. The other is that emboldened act of pushing open the gate to a more expansive view of oneself
i and one’s potential. Both definitions resonate with what I seek to achieve for my clients.
I am a trained coach through CTI, The Co-Active Training Institute. The largest and most renowned professional coach training organization in the world, CTI is also distinguished by its scientific affiliations, including Harvard’s MacLean Hospital. CTI graduates are employed in a third of the Fortune 100 companies.
